Mother’s Day is one of the loveliest—and busiest—days of the year. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it’s finally warm enough to shun those stuffy jackets. Unfortunately, this also means the card aisle has run dry, there’s not a bouquet to be found, and all the best brunch spots are fully booked.
This year bring Mother’s Day back to basics. Spend some nice family time together over a delicious spread made by none other than you. That’s right, with little more than some groceries and a basic knowledge of cookery, you can put together a fabulous Mother’s Day Brunch using some of our favorite, easy at-home recipes. So follow along for inspiration and get cracking on that brunch menu.
ICED CHOCOLACCINO
It may be warm out, but you and your guests will still need a caffeine boost. Treat everyone to a cooling iced beverage that’s part coffee and part hot chocolate and just as easy to prepare as your standard cup of joe. See this tasty recipe whipped up by the Kraft kitchen here.
CRESCENT BREAKFAST TART
Cover all your brunch bases with this ingenious recipe that combines everyone’s breakfast favorites: eggs, bacon, and buttery pastry. Store-bought crescent rolls make the ideal base for this dish that needs nothing more than a sheet pan and 30 minutes in the oven. Get ingredients details and watch a step-by-step video here.
PARMESAN HASH BROWN CUPS
Savory Potatoes transcend dinner to round out any brunch menu. And these cheesy potato cups are no exception! Bind frozen shredded hash browns with salty grated parmesan and dried herbs in a muffin tin for a quick crowd-pleasing side. Read the directions here.
CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST BITES
You want your brunch guests to enjoy a variety of their favorites, but you don’t want everyone to be stuffed—enter French toast bites! These delicious little golden cubes require no more ingredients or fuss than regular French toast, just a quick “sauté” and a fun dusting of cinnamon sugar. Learn how to refresh this classic here.
SPICY PEACH AND AVOCADO SALAD
Liven up your taste buds and Mother’s Day Brunch with a fruit salad that invites savory notes from chilies, freshly torn mint, and finely chopped shallots. An oddball combination of ingredients, be prepared to wow guests with this gastronomical delight. Bring these flavors together and check out the recipe here.
SMOKED SALMON PIZZA
Finger foods and hors-d’oeuvres are what separate brunch from breakfast. Combine a traditional brunch favorite, smoked salmon, with crème fresh and golden pizza dough for the perfect nosh. If time or supermarket selections are limited, premade flatbread pizza bases and cream cheese make excellent substitutions. Find the recipe details here.
