Colorado State Capitol
Learn a little about Colorado’s history, heritage, and general assembly when you visit the Colorado State Capitol. Tours are available and free to the public Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Molly Brown House
Discover the family home off activist and philanthropist, Molly Brown. For just $13 per person, you can explore a guided tour through the beautiful home and what life was like for Denver’s Titanic heroine, Margaret Brown. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Sunday, from 12:00-3:00 pm.
Denver Mint
Take a free guided tour of the Denver Mint and see where billions of coins are made per year. Six tours are offered throughout the day Monday-Thursday at 8:00 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:30 pm. Each tour is approximately 45 minutes long and afterward, all are welcome to visit the Mint gift shop and purchase coins and unique gifts.
Cherry Creek Trail
For the biking and hiking enthusiasts out there, you can enjoy the 40-miles trail accessible from Cherry Creek State Park. This trail is ideal for biking, inline skating, walking and is wheelchair accessible. Here you can enjoy the outdoors all while comfortably riding on this concrete trail. Note that this free trail does pass through many suburban and urban areas including Cherry Creek Shopping District, Four Mile House, and Historic Park.
Boulder County Farmers Market
Boulder County Farmers Market is in Denver on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Union Station. Here you can enjoy a variety of vendors selling fresh local produce, handmade goods, foods and more. It’s free to attend and all are welcome!
Denver Art Museum
At the Denver Art Museum you can enjoy an array of artwork from modern and contemporary to photography to textile. If you’re looking to save, every first Saturday of the month the museum offers free general admission for adults (children 18 and under are always free)! Visit Monday-Thursday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday-Sunday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre
If you’re looking to an outdoor experience like no other that won’t break the bank, you must visit Red Rocks! The park itself is open for hiking, biking, walks, and tours on its 640 acres and is free of charge to enter. Butterfly Pavilion
Come to Butterfly Pavilion to see some of the biggest and most beautiful butterflies and bugs there are to see. Located 15 minutes from downtown Denver and at an admission price that is budget-friendly. For just $12 (adult ticket) you can explore over 1,600 free-flying butterflies and other amazing exhibits Butterfly Pavilion has to offer. Open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
